SERDANG, May 15 - The handover of Universiti Putra Malaysia Teaching Hospital (HPUPM) by the Malaysian Public Works Department (Jabatan Kerja Raya) to UPM today marks the start of the opening phase of the hospital's operations to the community starting in August.
UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dato ' Dr. Aini Ideris said HPUPM will be the leading specialist hospital in Malaysia especially in the field of stroke, robotic surgery, zoonotic and various other niche areas.
"The hospital is expected to be open to the public in August after the safety and health inspection being conducted”.
"With the slogan of 'Providing Extraordinary Care Together', HPUPM is expected to help with the local community health in general up to the national level," she said during the HPUPM Handover Ceremony.
In addition to key handover ceremonies, the signing of the HPUPM handover documents also took place between the JKR and UPM witnessed by Prof. Dr. Aini and Prof. Dato' Dr.-Ing. Ir. Renuganth Varatharajoo, UPM's Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Network).
The presentation ceremony was witnessed by UPM management and a total of 150 HPUPM employees including the Director of HPUM, Prof. Madya Dr. Muhammad Mohd Isa.
