Serdang, March 24 - Participation of young people as hospital volunteers is strongly encouraged to foster family spirit and help the hospitals community. The concept of 1 Family 1 Volunteer was introduced this year to increase awareness of the importance of a volunteer in assisting hospital operations.
Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail officiated the Volunteer Seminar program shared her experience as a hospital volunteer and welcomed anyone interested in helping needy.
Along with the wish of the program organizers, the Universiti Putra Malaysia Teaching Hospital (HPUPM), Al-Islam Hospital and the Ibadah Mesra Hospital Academy, she explained the effectiveness in applying the concept of volunteers to give positive impact on hospitals, patients and the community.
Program was organized in collaboration with the Malaysian Youth Forces, Adab Youth Garage, ABIM Health Bureau, UPM KBM and Malaysia Relief Agency. The program was attended by 400 participants from various groups and several topics were presented during the seminar including the concept of volunteers, how to provide voluntary and technical services in approaching the patient.
