Serdang, April 17 - Universiti Putra Malaysia Teaching Hospital (HPUPM) has taken the initiative to hold the Clinical Pathological Conference (CPC) program as one of the efforts to enhance the image and prestige of UPM's clinical and healthcare expertise.
Prof. Madya Dr. Muhammad Hj Isa, Director of HPUPM expressed the intention to make CPC a monthly program and hopefully it will provide the latest clinical knowledge to staff at HPUPM.
This first CPC program was led by the Medical Department with the topic of "It's not just on your head". It starts with presenting patient scenarios and clinical result diagnosis by the moderator, Dr Chia Peck See and Dr Arif Khiew. Then it was followed by an intervention of each area of expertise, which is Dr. Laila Mastura (Radiologist) who discussed the results of MRI, Dr. Nadzrin bt Yusuf (Patologist) who reviewed the results of laboratory tests and Dr Ahmad Shuib (O & G) discussed other side problems faced by patients (gynecological problems).
The program received good response from faculty members in general including from students and medical representatives from Serdang Hospital. The program deals specifically with the diagnosis of patients from various angles of expertise and its effects, providing knowledge about intervention and clinical diagnosis that needs to be taken into account when dealing with patients.
